What We Do

Baston House School was opened by Samantha Cameron on 09th June 2011 and has steadily grown in size in order to provide for the demand of specialist Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) provision in the South East of England.

All pupils at Baston House School have an EHCP. The primary diagnosis is ASC, although many pupils have associated needs which are addressed by individual programmes and strategies designed by education staff and the therapists.

Baston House School provides education for pupils with a range of needs that may include the following:

  • Primary diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Conditions (ASC)
  • Complex needs and associated challenging behaviour
  • Previous placement breakdowns
  • A history of school refusal, periods of time out of school
  • Specific learning difficulties such as dyslexia and dyspraxia
  • Issued with an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP)

The school’s approach is a consolidation of ASC based specific teaching programmes.

The school has had 2 formal complaints in the 22/23 academic year.

We are dedicated to ensure that our school environment supports learning and the well-being of pupils and staff through a strong sense of community cohesion.

We work hard to provide a safe school where pupils feel included in every aspect of school life and comfortable to voice their opinions.

Baston House School evidences and supports its commitment and statutory duty to safeguard and promote the welfare of children. We are committed in establishing and maintaining procedures for safer recruitment and sound working relationships with parents and support agencies.
